A Desperate Poem

A Desperate Poem

By Milan Rakić

Pour yourself into me holding me tight,
As a feverish tide make my veins burst,
Squeeze my body hard, make it ignite,
And give me kisses for which I thirst…

As old Hermes and Aphrodite with him,
Melt inside me with your passion whole,
Till I burn out beneath your body slim,
And finally satiated is my hungry soul.

Darling, when I think the time will come
When for me there’ll be no single maid,
When my senses for good will go numb,
And desires, as smoke and foam, will fade,

But, that still around me everywhere
There will be moonlight to pine below,
And young hearts that work miracles fair,
And women that love and men loved so,

I’d scream, my love, and I’d roar in pain
Like a bull hit by a bullet in the head
That falls down despite the effort vain
As the black, hot blood therefrom is shed.

Pour yourself into me holding me tight,
As a feverish tide make my veins burst,
Squeeze my body hard, make it ignite,
And give me kisses for which I thirst…

Vrisnuo bih, draga, riknuo bih tada
Kao bik pogođen zrnom posred čela
Što u naporima uzaludnim pada
Dok iz njega bije krv crna i vrela…

Upij se u meni zagrljajem jednim,
Ko groznica tajna struji mojom krvi,
Krepko stegni moje telo, nek se smrvi,
I daj mi poljupce za kojima žednim…
