Pain and Shame

Pain and Shame

By Vladislav Petković-Dis

We set out for a party, my darling and I,
From a cloud where our love abode,
Her silk, pace and smile as she strode,
Were soft as music that did beguile.

The distant future we left behind,
The day of eternity, of faerie the world,
Where eagles their wings unfurled,
The venue of a party all eager to find.

Hurriedly, we entered the hall,
Our faces still agleam with skylight.
Ignorant of life, bells and disgrace.

Greeted with the cheer of skeletons all,
The wind of sin, of earth the scent light,
I raised my head, she covered her face.

Bol i stid

Draga i ja na zabavu neku.
sa oblaka gde nam ljubav bila,
Krenuli smo, padala joj svila,
hod i osmeh u muziku meku.

Ostavismo budućnost daleku,
dan večnosti, pokrajinu vila,
Mesta kondor gde razvija krila,
da bi stigli na igranku neku.

Uđosmo u dvoranu žurno.
S naših lica još se nebo sija.
Nismo znali za život i zvona.

Dočeka nas smeh kostura burno,
vetar greha, miris zemlje, i ja
digoh glavu, lice pokri ona.
